National Geographic Imaging is a subsidiary of National Geographic which is used to process and develop images acquired by the company. Their web site features a minimalistic and clean design style with a complete presentation of content. Previously designed by an in house team, this mini-site had many cross browser issues, was developed with outdated code, and yielded poor search engine results.
Amedia Creative took an approach that would minimize the amount of code used, allow search engine spiders to access the content more effectively, and strictly validate the web site to avoid cross-browser compatibility issues.
Once the project was complete, Amedia Creative was able to reduce the HTML loading time from 2.7 seconds to 0.8 seconds, make small alignment tweaks to further enhance professionalism, and boost the mini-site’s search engine results by sixty percent.
